The Long Term Economic Impact of the Tianjin Port Explosion

A great article from Dan Wang at Flexport. Disruptions are more frequent than we think. And they affect a few dramatically. And the ‘supply chain hairball’ mentioned in the article is vulnerable. Reminds me of Roseanne Roseannadana on SNL years ago – “It’s always something!”  But the financial impact is small and the probability is low. However, customers are affected, and their concerns may not be so small as the insurance impact.  And a few disgruntled customers can disturb things.  So we need still to be vigilant about prevention.

It was a massive disaster, but we find that the impact of the Tianjin port explosion was not as devastating and long-lasting as people initially feared.
